Frangula AzoricaSmall tree; 5x15cm deciduous leaves with slightly concave lower page and clear lateral veins; solitary reddish brown flowers; fruits are globose red drupe. It grows from 100 to 1000m, although it usually occurs above 500m. It is a species that appears in the native forest of laurissilva, appearing usually the scattered individuals. In some clearings arise dense stands of young individuals demonstrating the good propagation capacity of the species. |
