São Miguel Island

The island of São Miguel is the largest of the islands of the Azores archipelago. With an area of 747 km², it is 65 kilometers long and 13 kilometers wide and has a population of 132,000 inhabitants. It is made up of the districts of Lagoa, Northeast, Ponta Delgada, Povoação, Ribeira Grande and Vila Franca do Campo.
